There are different sizes of mammals on the American landscape. These animals most likely belong to the member of the family Sciuridae. This classification includes squirrels, marmots, prairie dogs, and groundhogs, to mention but a few. Thought the animals in this family are similar in their behaviors and diet, but these two ones, prairie dogs and groundhogs, have their differences.

Prairie dogs can be up to like three pounds of mass and can be up to sixteen inches long. They have a thin and short tail which is less than the one-quarter length of their body and also possess a sticky body. Most times, prairie dogs sit on their haunches, and they have a mottled brown coat. About groundhogs, they can have up to nine pounds in weight, and being the largest of its family, it can be up to twenty-six inches of length. These mammals have muscular forearms full of muscles and heavy-duty claws.
