Hex can be used as a noun and as a transitive or intransitive verb. Hex is different from the curse but looks more synonymous to enchant, strike (to affect someone with a magic spell), bewitch, or charm. Hex can also be referred to as jinx. Hex refers to an evil period inflicted on someone, in which the person is been accompanied with bad luck in whatever he or she does. This is mostly the handiwork of witchcraft, and in which they exist across the world.

The word "hex" etymologize from Pennsylvania Dutch word "hex," which means " to practice witchcraft or sorcery." Hex can also be referred to as a kind of curse to wish someone then he or she will come in contact with misfortune, bad luck, tragedy, or severe difficulty. It is believed that evils are inflicted by powers and forces that are above the natural world, and very hard to avoid. The word "curse" came from the ancient English word "curs" (noun), which means a prayer that harms one), and "cursian" (verb) which means to swear profanely.
