Spit-up and Vomit are not the same. Although both words might be used to refer to a condition that leads to the ejection of gastric contents, they still differ from each other. Vomit means to regurgitate the contents of a stomach. This occurs when there is a strong contraction of both the abdominal muscles and the diaphragm, in the stomach feels relax to empty its contents.

Almost everybody experiences this, especially when they are feeling sick or when they are filled up with excessive food particles. Spit-up, on the other hand, also means to regurgitate the contents of the stomach, but this time around, it comes smoothly without the muscular contraction of the abdominal vessels. This mostly occurs among infants. We can as well say that is their way of emptying their stomach. That is why you would see a baby ejecting slowly, the milk substance he was fed with
