Wealthy and luxurious are two English words that describe the state of having a massive amount of resources. Most times, both words are used interchangeably, this is actually because they are referring to the same thing when you consider the two words in a particular context. However, both words can still be used in other contexts. A wealthy person is someone in possession of a considerable level of resources; money and other luxury things. A wealthy person can also be called an affluent or prosperous person. A wealthy person might not necessarily be a person with substantial financial capacity.
Someone with a lot of property can be called a wealthy person. A rich person, on the other hand, is someone with the significant financial ability, someone privileged to be living a luxurious kind of life. However, a rich person cannot be compared with a wealthy person, because a wealthy person has all of the resources in abundance, but a rich person might be unfortunate and go broke.
