Ceramic and Porcelain are materials which can be used for a lot of things. They are used for construction works and even in pottery. Both ceramic and Porcelain are made clay, but they differ in some ways. Ceramic is made from clay by applying heat on it and allows it to solidify. While Porcelain is also made from clay, but the temperature and other conditions are different. Porcelain is made by heating clay under high temperature. Another difference is that, while ceramic looks like an opaque, Porcelain is a translucent material.
Due to the effect of heat on Porcelain, it has a surface smoother than ceramic, and it is remarkably thinner than ceramic. Another difference is that Porcelain does not crack so quickly and it does not attract stain, unlike ceramic, which cracks very easily probably because of its porosity. In terms of weight, ceramic is more substantial when compared with Porcelain.
