Both PPS and PPT are used in PowerPoint as files extension. PowerPoint is a presentation graphics software from Microsoft. Both PPS and PPT are used in the older versions of PowerPoint to save files on PowerPoint, but newer versions of PowerPoint use different file extension. However, you can quickly notice some differences between PPS and PPT. The first difference is that, when you click on PowerPoint file with the extension PPS, it takes you straight to the presentation page where you can quickly get down to accomplish whatever task you wish to do.
Whereas, when you click on PowerPoint file with extension PPT, it takes you to the editing environment of the presentation program. Another difference is that you can easily change fonts, font size and color in PowerPoint file with extension PPT while changing of fonts and color doesn't come easily on PPS files because PPS files don't go directly to the editing mode when clicked upon
