Map design is an art of cartography which provides information about the geographical location of a place in such a way that it can be easily understood irrespective of cultural and language difference. There are various types of map, which are road maps, topographical maps, economic maps, climate maps, political maps, and physical maps. Political and physical maps can both be represented on a map, where different colors denote distinguished features. For examples, water bodies are colored blue, mountains are colored brown, and forests are colored green.
Physical maps explain the location's terrains, bodies of water and landforms, which provides geographical information about rivers, lakes, cities, buildings, roads, forest, and other features. When it comes to political maps, it provides geographic details on the borders between cities and countries and also its roads and population. Though political and physical maps are essential and useful to students of geography, political maps are more useful for travelers like businessmen, tourists, and navigators (especially pilots).
