Batteries, which were referred to as Voltaic cell or Voltaic pile, were invented in the 1800 s by Alessandro Volta. Today, chemicals like Li-ion batteries and NiMH are the components used in the dry cell which evolve from the chemicals used in the wet cell before. So, the cell later got to be called battery as influenced by a man named Benjamin Franklin. The old Leyden jars were being used as a kind of capacitor for holding some particular amount of charge.
Since he needed more cost than what the jars could carry, he connected them and called it battery. Since then, whenever some number of cells were linked together, it is called assault. Generally, a single cell can be referred to as a cell or battery, but the combination of a group of cells is called a battery. The battery is an essential part of our lives as it keeps many engines and devices running, and more improvements would still come by the day.
