Socialism is one of the main political, social, and economic theories of previous decades. Socialism opposes the capitalist perspective. It advocates for collective ownership of the means of production and active governmental involvement in the industrial processes and the redistribution of wealth.
Utopian socialism strived for the elimination of inequities, balance between work, education, and private life, shared ownership, harmony within society, removal of the struggle between classes, just and fair governance, and equal opportunities. Both Utopian socialism and Marxism believed in different means of social transformation. Utopian socialists had more idealistic beliefs, while Marxism was based upon a more scientific approach. Marxism was based on material growth, revolution, and embracing class struggles. Utopian socialism was against all of this, yet it provided no realistic plan to solve these problems.
