Vitamins are categorized into two groups, which are water-soluble and fat-soluble. The variation between the two groups establishes how the vitamin is absorbed by, stored in, and lost from the body. Water-soluble vitamins consist of vitamin B and C. These vitamins dissolve in water when they are ingested.

Water-soluble are those that dissolve in water and readily absorb into the tissues for immediate use. Since these vitamins are excreted through the urine, there is a minimal risk for overdose. Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the liver in excess. Too much of them can cause hypervitaminosis. Vitamins A, D, E, and K are significant fat-soluble vitamins.

To stay healthy, it is important to eat healthy foods, exercise, and take your vitamins every day. We tell our kids to take their vitamins. This will allow them to have vitamins and minerals for the day. However, there are two different types of vitamins that you can take. They are different because they have to do with the ways in which the vitamins are absorbed into the body.

Actually, different vitamins absorb in water and others that absorb in fat. Therefore, you should have both. Water-soluble vitamins include Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, Folate, Biotin, Pantothenic acid, and C. Fat-soluble vitamins include many of the other vitamins including Vitamin A, D, E and K.
