Some people assume that a psychologist and a psychiatrist are the same but these are two different professions that may seem similar to each other in the beginning. Psychiatrists are known to be medical doctors. There are trained and they know the right medications to prescribe to those who need it. A psychologist is someone who is more focused on treating the emotional health of the patient.

This is someone who has studied all of the psychological theories and the potential treatments that they can do depending on what the patient needs. Both would be allowed to talk to their patients but a psychologist may be more focused on the treatment as compared to prescribing the right medications.
