Though Flag Day in the United States is not an official federal holiday, it is being commemorated across the United States every 14th of the month of June. This is to celebrate the date on which the American flag with the 50 stars and 13 red and white stripes was first raised. It might not be a holiday but many towns and states celebrate this day by organizing events and parades.
A famous annual Flag Day parade happens in Troy, New York, where 50,000 spectators are expected each year. During the week of Flag Day, people are not expected but are encouraged to fly the flag at their homes, business establishments, cars, and of course, at all government buildings.
