There are some differences between body cells and gametes. By definition, cells are the basic unit of a living organism, just as atoms are the smallest particles of elements, they contain protoplasm which is surrounded by cell membranes. The human body is made up of millions of cells, and each cell is naturally designed for a specific function. Gametes, on the other hand, are reproductive cells which can be found in the sperm and the females egg. This means, gametes are just examples of many different cells in the body.
They also differ in terms of different processes each of them undergoes. For example: gametes undergo meiosis, a process that talks about cell division of a diploid cell into four haploid cells, which develop to produce gametes. Body cells, on the other hand, undergo mitosis. There are many chromosomes present in a body cell, while gamete has just half the number of chromosomes from the parent cell.
