ANSI Lumens and Lumens are two measuring units used in determining the intensity of the light emitted from a source. The perfect thing or material to explain this is a projector. Different projectors we use usually come with Lumens and ANSI Lumens rating. Lumen is used to determine the luminous flux of a device. Luminous flux means the measurement of the power of light.
The lumen written on the projector tells about the level of light that can be produced by a projector. ANSI Lumen, on the other hand, is also used to determine the luminous flux of a device. But it is different because it has a specific rating with which the luminous flux of a device can be determined. The specific rating was structured by the American National Standard Institute. This means ANSI Lumen is the generally acceptable standardized rating to determine the brightness of the light coming from a source.
