Affect simply means to make a considerable change in someone or something by influencing them in some ways. For example: the story told by the boss affected me greatly. It is also used when you are moved to emotion. Effect, on the other hand, is the outcome or result of a cause. It is the action produced after someone or something has been influenced or altered by something. It is like the end result of what has affected you
