The NSAIDs are known to be non-narcotic pain relievers, while Aspirin is a type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs). Basically, the Aspirin and other forms of NSAID’s are used to effectively treat pain and reduce level inflammation from variety of diseases such as injuries, headaches, arthritis, menstrual cramps, etc. you should know that NSAID’s may increase the blood levels of lithium in the body by the reduction of lithium excretion in the kidneys.

Aspirin, on the other hand, reduces blood pressure as such, lowers the effects of blood pressure medications. The Aspirin is a unique form of the NSAIDs because of the prolonged effect of aspirin in the body ensures the prevention of blood clots that may result in strokes or heart attacks. Thus, they both share the same side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, loss of appetite, stomach ulcers, skin rash, headache, drowsiness, etc.

There are so many drugs available for pain-reliever and the treatment of other related health condition. Examples of these drugs are aspirin and NSAIDs. Just like there are narcotic made drugs that are used in the pain level in the body, aspirin and NSAID are perfect examples of non-narcotic drugs. We can just assume that both aspirin and NSAID are the same, but the only difference is that aspirin is just an example of different NSAIDs available. NSAIDs means Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs.

Just like other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin is used in the treatment of fever, inflammation and pains in the body. As we can all see 'anti-inflammatory' as part of the terms constituting its name, it means, it is an important drug in the treatment of inflammation in the body. It is used also for blood clotting, injuries etc. The use of aspirin and NSAIDs sometimes come with little side effects like nausea, ulceration and cramping etc.
