For many, water-resistance and waterproof sound the same, but in all true sense, there are not. Water-resistance means an object can resist the penetration of water to some degree. This means when water goes on it; water doesn’t break down to seep in.
However, if exposed to for an extended period, it will be hard for the object to resist water. Waterproof, on the other hand, means water cannot penetrate the object. This prevents water from getting into the object even if exposed to water for a long period.
