What is the difference between Concrete and Abstract Nouns?

Abstract nouns are the exact opposite of concrete nouns. It refers to nouns that cannot be perceived with the five senses. It refers to ideas and beliefs. Examples include Patience, happiness, oppression, anger, energy, pride, love, education, and much more.

There are times when people may have a hard time expressing themselves even when they want to say something. When this happens, people may be able to share their feelings with the use of abstract nouns. Abstract nouns are for those that you cannot experience with your five senses. When you use concrete nouns, these are the nouns that you can easily touch, see, feel, taste, or smell.
