Some people may assume that they already have schizophrenia just because they are experiencing anxiety. Anxiety and schizophrenia are different from each other. Stress can be felt even by those who do not have schizophrenia. Feeling anxious means that you cannot calm down and you are anticipating that something terrible is going to happen also if the possibility of something happening is very far fetched.

Those who have schizophrenia may have developed the condition because of severe anxiety or a traumatic event. Some people had reported that they had undergone a very stressful time in their lives before they started experiencing symptoms of schizophrenia. Those who are suffering from this condition may tend to become delusional or to have hallucinations.
