Even though many people have not heard of Pentecost, it is considered to be one of the four most important holidays for Christians. The others are well-known and consist of Christmas, Good Friday and Easter. Both Christians and Jews celebrate Pentecost. Pentecost is known as the period of 50 days or seven weeks following Easter which represents the crucifixion of Jesus.
Many Christians don’t celebrate this event as much as they celebrate other religious holidays. However, the churches will usually do something to celebrate Pentecost including decorations. The sanctuary in churches may be adorned in red and white. Also, the ministers may wear red and white on their attire. Red stands for fire and white stands for goodness and purity.
