World Environment Day 2018, hosted by India, was beating plastic pollution. Every World Environment Day has a different global host country where the official celebration takes place. Plastic, which is rapidly polluting our water supply, harms our marine life, and poses a threat to human health.
This theme was of specific concern in the year 2018, and it is still a concern today. A large portion of the population depends upon plastic to use for various purposes. Nearly one-third of all plastic is not disposed of properly and ends up obstructing drains and destroying the environment. Plastic can remain in the environment for thousands of years.
The correct answer to this question is to beat plastic pollution. This was the theme of World Environment Day in 2018. The pollution of plastic is a major problem that is affecting our Earth. We use plastic on a daily basis. Whether through using utensils or plastic bags, plastic is apart of our life.
However, it has a detrimental impact on Earth. Plastic takes years to disintegrate in the landfill. So, when people are just throwing it away or littering, it is slowly eating away at our Earth. To beat plastic pollution, it is recommended to eliminate the use of it or to recycle it.

World Environment Day is held every year in June. Though it is always held at the same time, the theme varies from year to year. In 2018, the theme was an effort to beat plastic pollution.
This is because the amount of plastic being littered is extremely harmful to our world. When one throws away plastic, it takes a long time for it to disintegrate. It takes so long that it remains in landfills for years. Along with that, they can hurt the animals if they get it in their reach. This year, organizations influenced people to reuse their plastics or recycle them properly.

In 2018, the theme of World Environment Day was to beat plastic pollution. People will often litter plastic and it becomes entangled in animals and causes problems. However, there are also other problems when people throw away plastic. If someone throws plastic away, it takes a long time to disintegrate. It remains in our landfills for many years. India was the host country in 2018 for World Environment Day.
They knew that plastic hurt their wildlife and it even hurt their own people. India wanted to stop people from using plastic for one reason and then throwing it away. They believe that if plastic is used it should be used over and over again. Then it would not be put into the landfills.
