In basketball, technical foul can be defined as the violation of certain games rules. There are numerous reasons why a referee can sign a technical foul.

Basketballers during competitions can involve their emotions like anger, aggression, frustrations and others which can lead to technical foul. There are different technical fouls exhibited by basketballers consciously or unconsciously.

Minor technical foul play involves when the coach calls for timeouts excessively. When the number of player is less or more than five on the court a technical foul can be signed.

If a player hangs or hold the rim for support technical foul can be signed and lastly the way you conduct yourself as a player or a coach can determine whether a technical foul is signed or not.

The correct answer to this question is Technical Foul. The sport the referee is refereeing in the picture shown is basketball. There are many reasons, both physical and verbal, for why a technical foul should be called. One is when a player does a hard play on another play. A technical will become a flagrant foul when it is seen as intentional.

Another reason a player may get a technical foul is for arguing with another player or a referee. Along with players, a coach can also receive a technical foul. One reason a coach would get a technical foul is for leaving the coaching area to complain. Another reason is when a coach chooses to curse at a referee.
