James Naismith invented basketball in Springfield in 1891. He was a Canadian American physical educator, physician, Christian chaplain, and a sports coach.
He was born in Almonte, Ontario, on the 6th day in the month of June 1861, and he died on the 28 days in the month of November 1939.
He propended the original rule for basketball. Naismith founded the basketball game when he was teaching in the International YMCA training school in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Naismith's received a lot of awards such as FIBA hall of fame, Canadian Basketball hall of fame, Ontario hall of fame, McGill university hall of fame, and others. In 1898, he received his medical degree in Denver and later became the athletic director and coach of Kansas Jayhawks.
