Punctuations are really important in formal writings. They are important because they make the sense of what is written easier to determine. Examples of punctuation marks are semicolon and colon. These two types of punctuation are very versatile, in that, they are widely used in writings. However, there are differences between the two punctuation marks. semicolon is a punctuation mark that looks like a comma with a on top of it.
It looks exactly like the symbol in the bracket (;). It is used to make a connection about two things or two complete statement. For example: I don't really know what is happening to her; probably her friends will know. Colons, on the other hand, looks like two dots that stand on each other. It looks exactly like the symbol in the bracket (:). Conon is used to expatiate more on a sentence. It is used to give additional and related information about a statement. For example: My car got crashed yesterday: I'm buying another one tomorrow.
