People may assume that Roxicet and Percocet are the same but there are some details that you should realize. Oxycodone is known to be an opioid pain medicine. Percocet is considered to be a stronger medication that is also used in order to treat pain.

There may be some similarities between the two like the fact that they are both considered to be narcotic analgesics but oxycodone can be considered as one of the ingredients that you can find in Percocet. Roxicet is the brand name for the combination medication oxycodone and acetaminophen, which is dispensed in a ratio of 5 mg of oxycodone and 325 mg of acetaminophen. 5/325 of this medication is the base dose for this narcotic. Percocet is the same medication, which is manufactured by a different company.

There is no variance between these two medications except for the name and the manufacturers. The addition of the acetaminophen with these medications helps to boost the effects of the oxycodone; however, you have to be careful with acetaminophen because it can cause liver damage when taken in large quantities and you should not take extra when you are taking this combination medication.
