What is the difference between Hijab and Khimar?

The hijab is known to be a headscarf that is usually placed on the head. It will cover the neck, the rest of the head, and hair. It will be just above the shoulders. The Khimar is known to be longer. It will also cover the head, but the cloth will reach up to the elbows or the hands.

Wearing the hijab and the Khimar symbolizes the choice of women nowadays to become more modest and to cover themselves up. Now, not all Muslim women are required to cover up their head and the other parts of their body. A lot of Muslim women feel liberated that they are given a choice, and most of them still choose to wear the hijab or Khimar.

It should be noted that both are worn by women to maintain privacy and modesty.
