RTF means Rich Text Format and HTML means Hypertext Markup Language. The two text format are similar in their functions because they are used as tags when formatting a document. RTF was developed as part of Microsoft word texting format and is used as a format for storing documents. But presently the use RTF is no longer common as it has been replaced by DOC and DOCX. While HTML is used as a protocol for transmitting contents or texts across the internet. With RTF text format, you can include images with the text and the images will be part of the documents but with HTML, you can only include the images with the text by adding a link to where the images to be included are stored.
