One of the most important federal holidays in the United States is Memorial Day. Memorial Day is a special day for Americans to pay tribute to those men and women of the American Armed Forces who had fought for the country. Those people served their country to the point of death. Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday in May and this marks the unofficial start of the summer vacation season in the United States.
Memorial Day was initially meant for those military men who lost their lives during the Civil War but recently extended to military men who died while serving in the military. People engage themselves in so many activities on that day to mark and honor those people. The celebration usually starts with the official flying of the United States flag, followed by the parade and a lot of people engage themselves in this. Also, some celebrate the day by visiting the cemetery to decorate the graveyard of their loved ones who died while serving in the military.
