What is the difference between Counter culture and Sub culture?

Counterculture is the type of culture that is completely against the mainstream culture. They want to make sure that they will be able to keep their beliefs and traditions intact. There are some people who may belong to a group that believes in counterculture and when they leave, they will be warned by the members that they cannot be saved anymore or there is still a chance for them to repent and go back to the culture that they believe is right and proper.

Subculture may also have differences with the main culture but they are somewhat influenced by the main culture too. They can live to coincide with people who are living the main culture unlike those who believe in the counterculture that refuse to mingle with others at all.

Counterculture is a culture that differs in beliefs, values, and norms from the mainstream culture. It describes the way of life of a group that is against the societal norms, and it seeks to change the mainstream culture. It completely disregards the mainstream culture.

While subculture, although it differs from mainstream culture as it has its norms, beliefs, values, and behaviors, it exists under the mainstream culture and may share some qualities with the mainstream culture. Their ideas and values are often not at odds with societal norms. Shared experiences and interests mostly unite subcultures.
