Are you familiar with WSS and MOSS? If you have always loved computers, this will be nothing new to you. These two are actually classifications of Microsoft Sharepoint. WSS is known to be the basic classification while MOSS is known to be something that is much more advanced.
The best thing about these two classifications is they are not very hard to understand. As long as you have basic knowledge on how to use it, it will not be too hard to do. WSS may come with standard features but some companies may find these features lacking and transfer to MOSS. Take note that MOSS would require the purchase of certain software before it can be used.

WSS (Windows SharePoint services) comes at no cost with the purchase of a Windows server either 2003 or 2008 license. It is included as part of the Windows server operating system. The WSS does not have its licensing model as it is controlled through Windows Server Licenses.
WSS is suitable for a small team and small projects. MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint server) requires the purchase of additional licenses that includes server-side permits and client access licenses (CALs). The MOSS licensing model is further broken out into a Standard Edition and an Enterprise Edition. WSS is the platform on which MOSS is built. MOSS has extra functionalities.
