What is the difference between Evening and Afternoon?

There are a lot of people who may become a bit confused with afternoon and evening because there are not enough details that can state when is the actual time that afternoon ends and when the evening starts. There are a lot of people who say that afternoon ends right before sunset. Some assume that afternoon and evening are the same but this is not true. 5 PM is the time that people argue most.

According to tradition, the afternoon is until 5:59 PM then at 6 PM, the evening will begin. Some assume that this is already evening but some say that evening maybe 6 PM to 8 PM. Evening lasts until 5 AM.
