Blackberry and Black Raspberry are two types of fruits. It will be very difficult to distinguish between the two if you are looking from a distance. But the truth is, there are still some noticeable differences between them. The first difference is on how you harvest the two. When you pluck blackberry from the plant, it does not form any hollow, i.e the stem part still remains with the fruit, but when you pluck black raspberry from its tree, this causes the stem to stay back with the tree, and leaves something like hollow on the fruits.

Another difference is that, it takes a while for blackberry to be ready for harvest, while black raspberry does not take a very long period before it becomes ripe, in fact, you might just start harvesting blackberry two weeks after black raspberry has been harvested. When it comes to how they look, blackberry looks very good compared to black raspberry

Being that they are from the same family and genus, it is easy to confuse blackberries and black raspberries with one another. Blackberries are larger than black raspberries. They are also more glossy, due to the fact black raspberries have white protective hairs on them.

When it comes to taste, black raspberries are less tart, but blackberries are sweeter. Both of them are healthy, but compared to one another, black raspberries are healthier. This because blackberries contain a high number of sugars, while black raspberries contain anthocyanins and antioxidants. Research has also proven black raspberries to be helpful in cancer prevention.
