Edward’s Syndrome is a disorder that has a harsh survival rate for the babies. They may only reach the age of one year old if they are lucky. There are many medical issues that result from having Edward’s Syndrome. It is a genetic disorder where the person has a third copy of the gene of the chromosome 18. It is different from Down’s Syndrome because that is a third copy of the gene for chromosome 21.
It is believed that Edward’s Syndrome was discovered by a doctor in Great Britain possibly whose last name was Edwards. Therefore, it was named after this doctor. He either discovered it in the 1960s or it was merely published then in a British journal.
