Today, society treats Down Syndrome babies better than they used to. Today, parents can take home and be provided with support to help them raise and educate and prepare their children for a successful life. Many years ago, the hospitals, doctors, nurses and other professionals would try to convince the parents of children with Down Syndrome to either give up their babies or put them in asylums that can better handle these children.
There weren’t any programs to use to raise children. The parent would have to raise the child on their own. It was almost frowned upon to raise your own child who had Down Syndrome. Today, people welcome children with Down Syndrome in schools. However, other children should be educated about children with disabilities such as Down Syndrome.
