Archaeologists do indeed live adventurous lives in real life or at least some of them do. In fact, many movies about them are based on real adventures, like the Indiana Jones movies were based on Vidal Jones, a Christian archiologist and theologist. The quest of searching for ancient replicas just has to have a sense of adventure although it can also become mundane if nothing is being found.

When there is a discovery though, all of the boredome and sweat and tears are pushed aside to celebrate the new finding. Those who engage in the field are lovers of it so they know the drawbacks and find that the rewards are well worth the wait and the toil and trouble. Yes, many adventures await those who dig.
