The correct answer to this question is COSINE. Cosine is equal to the adjacent side divided by the hypotenuse (Adjacent/hypotenuse).
There are two basic functions in trigonometry. These are Sine and Cosine. The other four functions in trigonometry depend greatly on these two. The other functions include Tangent, Cotangent, Secant, and Cosecant.
The formula for calculating Sine is:
Sine = (opposite side) / hypotenuse
For Cosine:
Cosine = (adjacent side)/ hypotenuse
And the formula for calculating Tangent is:
Tangent = (opposite side)/ Adjacent side.
The other three functions are less often used. They are calculated with the following formulas:
Cot A = 1/(tan A)
Sec A = 1/(cos A) and finally,
Csc A = 1/(sin A)
