Are German universities really better than US universities?

German universities are said to be better than those in the US but that is a matter of opinion and what you are using to compare the two. United States universities are smaller which can be a plus. German universities average 10,000–40,000 students.

But, that is also probably because German universities are offered as a free public service. As far as accedemics, most think German universities are superior while US universities accel in sports. Germany is more supportive of higher education than the United States is and many feel that shows.
