Ethernet has changed a lot over the years in many ways. In 1998, ethernet celebrated 25 years in existence. Through time, it has experienced the increase of data transfer rates. They have increased f2.94 megabits per second as they first were, to the latest 400 gigabits per second which is very much faster. It has also evolved from a thick standard to a thin one.

Rather than the thick, expensive and bulky coax, the braided or fiber is now used which is less expensive, quicker, and more reliable As wireless advances, so does ethernet yet ethernet has an extra measure of security because one must plug into it to get online through it where that is not true with wireless.
