Generally, the women of Bahrain dress conservatively. Women tend to gravitate toward wearing longer dresses called abaya. They also wear something called hijabs, which are headscarves. The basic rule in Bahrain is to dress modestly when you are out in public.
Women usually wear clothes which cover their shoulders and their knees, sleeveless tops are forbidden, and spaghetti straps and blouses are not allowed. Both men and women have to take off their shoes before going inside the mosque. Professional women should wear dress pants or skirts which fall below the knees. The dress code varies depending upon the situation.

Women in Bahrain are not required to wear a Burka, Niqab, or a Hijab when they are going out of their homes. They can definitely wear Western dresses although personally, they may still choose styles that are a bit on the conservative side.
They can wear clothes the way that they want to wear their clothes and they can also style their hair the way that they want to. They feel that this is empowering for them because it allows them to express their personality. The men in Bahrain also appreciate this because they do like looking at women who are confident and feel good about themselves.
