What is Kessler syndrome?

Kessler syndrome refers to a situation whereby the density of objects in the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) becomes increasingly high with a possibility of massive cascade when two objects collide in the space and as a result of this, the collided objects split into pieces and in turn increases the possibility of more collisions. We currently live in a world where everyone wants to launch their own satellite into the space.

And it seems we are more concerned about the satellite we want to launch than what happens to the satellite after a while. There are many dead satellites in the space orbiting Earth. When there's collision between those dead satellites and any other objects, they split and thousands of pieces of space debris are released into the orbit. This results in the large number of dead satellites and millions of space debris in the Low Earth Orbit. You could imagine an orbit with millions of space debris and the possibility of new collisions between the space debris and any launched satellite. The presence of more dead satellites and their debris increases the chances of more possible collision
