Is AC / DC heavy metal?

ACDC is a heavy metal band. They are one of the most popular of all heavy metal bands as a matter of fact. They don't fall into one genre only though because they have their own one of a kind style that somehow combines other genres too like rock and roll and grunge but they do it in a unique way that only they can pull off.

You can sing along with their music and you can dance to it too. It sticks in your head unlike some heavy metal band music. So, yes, they are a heavy metal band but they are also not limited to such because they are all that and more.

Yes, AC/DC are with not doubt heavy metal as at the time of the release of their tracks. At the time, most fans classified them as heavy metal.

Over time, the definition of heavy metal changed and modern listeners now consider these classics as hard rock and not heavy metal as it now fits into the definition of hard rock rather than heavy metal.

Also, it is quite difficult to categorise a band under a single genre as there can make tracks on different genres. So I think it’s best to categorise the tracks rather than categorising the band.
