Silicon Valley is in the southern part of the San Fransisco Bay. The word "silicon" enotes the large amounts of silicon chip manufacturers and innovators that are located in the area. The name was given decades ago but the scenario remains the same.

Some of the world's largest manufacturers and high tech corporations are located in Silicon Valley. Thirty-nine of the biggest Fortune 500 companies reside in the Silicone Valley. The name for the region used to be regarding the mystical fruit legendary to the region but now, the silicon innovation is much more suiting for the area's more modern role.
