Is California always warm?

California is one of the states with wide range of weather conditions.
For most times of the year, California is warm. This is due to the great influence of the Pacific Ocean which most often moderates the temperature creating warmer winters and cooler summers.

In November and December, it can get down into the 40s and 50s which is considered cold to some people and is definitely too cold to enjoy laying out on the beach or swimming. So, no, it is not really warm all year round but it is usually pleasant and not too extreme one way or the other. If you are planning a trip, the early summer is your best bet. That way the rain of the spring is over, the winter is gone, and it is not too hot yet so it's considered the best time of all to give California a visit.
