What are the levels of poverty?

The levels of poverty are figured on different levels.The main one, is on a Federal level. The Federal Guideline goes for the contingent United States. Alaska and Hawaii are more expensive so they get an allowance. For one person in a family, $12,490 is the poverty level. That amount or below constitutes poverty.

For each person in the household, you add on $4,420. That is annual wages before taxes are deducted which is the gross income. Medicaid is a program that has been put into place to help those who are within 138 percent of the poverty level.

That causes some to strive to be in that low level but others cannot help it and are just relieved to have help. Some, however, fall between the cracks and make a tad too much but not enough to survive really.
