Acrophobia was discovered in 1888. It affects about 1 in 20 people. It is the fear of heights and can be experienced on different levels to varying degrees. Some are afraid to go up high while others are afraid to think of heights or to see something, like a tall building, that sits high.
There are those who get emotionally troubled like feel very stressed and anxious while some throw up or faint. It is a genuine problem for those who have it and for their loved ones as well. It can interfere with life.
