Brunel doesn't give in to international pressure. They don't because they don't have to. They hold a lot of power in their oil resources, and that is what it's all about when it comes down to what a country is forced to do...or not. They are intended to have a spirit of independence, which is something they gained from New Zealand not so long ago. They are not going to go getting themselves into a dependent state now, no matter what.
Their laws are not accepted by many countries and are facing criticism and reviews. They, however, have power in their oil as stated before, so it is not certain what changes if any, they will be required to make. They do hold fast to their beliefs, something that stems from the independence they have now gained, no doubt.
