Who is Andrew Wakefield?

Andrew Wakefield was once a doctor but his credentials have now been removed. He is from Britain and is most known for his role as an anti-vaccine activist.

At one time, he was a gastroenterologist but he was excluded and removed from the UK medical register for his unethical behavior and dishonest regarding a fraudulent research paper in which he made claims that there was a link between such immunizations as the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine and medical conditions like autism and bowel disease. Some anti-vaxxers feel that he was set up in this banning.

Andrew Wakefield is a discredited, former British Dr. who became an anti-vaccine activist. He was a gastroenterologist who was struck off the United Kingdom medical register for unethical behavior, misconduct, and dishonesty for authoring a fraudulent research paper, which claimed a link between the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine and autism and bowel disease.

He was investigated for his “findings,” and researchers could not find the supposed link between the research that wake Field generated as “proof,” that vaccines caused these conditions. His claims created a climate of mistrust for modern medicine, as well as reputable and capable doctors, who were in favor of vaccinations. It even created the reemergence of controllable diseases.
