Fraud is a term that talks about a falsehood, dishonest and dubious way to swindle people. In short, it is a financial crime intended to take advantage of some by duping or stealing something from him. People defraud mainly because of monetary gain or other personal benefits. Fraud is not only for monetary gain or as people can swindle because of other personal gain.

For example, someone might just decide to defraud someone with the only intention that he wants to avenge an ugly experience he had with the would-be victim. But on a more detailed view of what fraud actually is, most times the end result of any fraud activity will always lead to a loss, which often times is money, but doesn't mean everything about always ends at loss of money. There have been cases of victims being defrauded of their properties, important receipt and other valuables aside money
