Canadian passport is biometric and is also known as digital passport or e-passport. And it is more like a traditional which has a microprocessor chip embedded in it. The microprocessor chip contains biometric information which can used in identifying the identity of the passport holder.
The chip is also used to store the critical information about the passport holder on the data page of the passport. The passport is expensive and difficult to forge because 'public key infrastructure' is used to check the electronically stored data in the passport chip.
The following features can be seen on the passport;
1. The digital photo of the passport holder is printed and embedded on the data page.
2. Digitally printed information of the passport holder is also printed and attached directly on the chip
3 E-Passport symbol which shows it has an electronic chip on it.
