How expensive is living in Canada?

Living in Canada has its perks. It is cheap in some areas but more expensive than some locations in other things. Take for instance if you want to import an item in by mail. You not only pay a very high shipping rate but an extra surcharge when you go to pick it up as well. But, there are things that are affordable too.

The average income in Canada is about $3000 a month. The United States is slightly above that so it's close to normal. You get a lot more time off when you have a child if you live in Canada, which is a plus. The cost of renting an apartment is just slightly above the cost in the United States. Healthcare is cheaper in Canada than in the US.

It ranks number 6 while the United States ranks as the number one most expensive. Food is more expensive in Canada plus, you have to consider that in the winter, most of Canada is very cold so you will need to figure in heating expense. Canada is not outrageously expensive to live in like some countries are but not as affordable as some either.
